January 21, 2011
We explored wikis through wikispaces.com and create wikis for classroom use. We also began our work on the Teacher Fusion pages. I created a profile. I noticed that I have one Fusion page, Destination Imagination. I sent an email to Brandi to make another page for G/T.

We updated our wikis and learned how to fine tune them. We also explored other elementary classroom wikis and how they can be used effectively to promote writing, reading, and math. Our new school website does have wikis embedded in them. I explored them and will need to investigate them further. I like how wikispaces.com makes it easy to create wikis and it provides free wikis to educators.

We worked on our Teacher Fusion webpages and added information to our classroom pages. We also learned how to merge all of the pages that have been set up for teachers into one main page. At the elementary level, it makes greater sense having one page. We also explored how to move parts of the pages and add pictures.

Molly shared various ways to use the Smartboard and how we can use a Document Camera.

We explored Storybird.com and Digital Citizenship. In addition, we participated in a workshop on Capstone Digital which is online literacy program in which students can read books online and check their comprehension online too.
